This is the most commonly used icing by people around us 🙂 And it makes sense. It ain’t as complicated as Butter cream. It’s soft, buttery and works excellent to ice, write or decorate both cakes and cupcakes. And allows you to play with different colors and flavors. Be creative and amaze yourself and others around you.

The one that I’m publishing here is simple Vanilla flavored one.

All you need>>>

Unsalted butter———- 4 oz or 100 g
Icing sugar————— 8 0z or 225 g
Milk———————– 1 tbsp
Vanilla essence——— 1/2 tsp

How it’s made>>>

  1. Place butter in a large bowl and beat it with a wooden spoon till soft and creamy.
  2. Sift one third of the icing sugar over it and mix well. Then sift in the remaining icing sugar.
  3. Add the milk and the vanilla essence. Then, beat till the icing is pale and fluffy.

Alterations>>>

Chocolate Butter Icing>>>

Replace milk with  1 tbsp of cocoa powder mixed with 1 tbsp of warm water.

Coffee Butter Icing>>>

For coffee replace milk with 2 tbsp of instant coffee or granules mixed with one tbsp of water.

Orange Butter Icing>>>

Replace the vanilla essence and milk with 2 tsp of orange juice and the grated rind of an orange.

An so on and so forth.
