In other batch I also tried these with dried oregano in flour mix and it smelled like pizza, and was a instant hit among kids. The two sauces I’ve used here will also be updated in next posts, in sha Allah! If nothing, plain ketchup does its job.

This is a very basic, simple, straight-forward recipe. I would suggest you try out this recipe as it is first and share it with your kids and family. Once you get the hang of these quick, easy and simple chicken fingers, now you’re ready to add in a a few extra flavorings. You can add onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, crushed red chili flakes to the flour or soya sauce, lemon juice, ketchup, chili garlic sauce to chicken. Breadcrumbs:

I make my own breadcrumbs hands down, no two ways about it. But when it comes to special presentation, or fried items like these chicken fingers, regular homemade or even store bought ones like Dawn and Bunny’s breadcrumbs down work that well. I’m not saying you can’t use them but for this look, for this extra crispy, crunchy look and feel, you need to go outside, sit in your car, bike or whatever and head over to superstores like Pioneer in main market. These breadcrumbs add an extra crunch, an extra crisp, a something restaurant feel to the overall dish, of course if you are in an area where you can’t find these breadcrumbs, you can definitely make them with regular breadcrumbs and impress your friends and family but what I’m talking about is for that signature restaurant look of the dish, get my point? These come in a red packing, with prawn picture pasted on front:) easily available at Pioneer store, main market (not paid post at all).

This crispy, crunchy, tasty treat is a party pleaser for sure with kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
  • Chicken boneless in strips-------------- 200 g
  • Salt-------------------------------------------- ½ tsp + ½ tsp or to taste
  • All-purpose flour--------------------------- 5 tbsp Maida
  • Soya sauce--------------------------------- 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper-------------------------------- ½ tsp
  • Mustard paste------------------------------- 1 tsp
  • Chicken powder----------------------------- ½ tsp
  • Egg -------------------------------------------- 1
  • Bread crumbs-------------------------------- 1 cup or as needed
Instructions
  1. Add mustard paste, soya sauce and half tsp of salt to chicken strips, mix and set aside.
  2. Take another clean bowl and add all-purpose flour (maida) to it, and throw in rest of the half teaspoon of salt, black pepper, chicken powder and stir well.
  3. Whisk egg and set aside.
  4. Toss flour mix to the marinated chicken to coat well.
  5. Now take each strip of flour coated chicken and dip it first into whisked egg and then in bread crumbs, then finally in medium hot oil.
Notes
Heat oil on medium flame, then keep it on low flame till you add chicken strips to it.

Time of cooking for the strips depends on the thickness of your chicken strips, the thicker the strips the longer it'll take to cook them. Mine were medium thickness so they took around 2-3 minutes to cook.
