So if you are serving them to children, either omit knorr chili garlic sauce completely or substitute it with simple ketchup. This Homemade KFC hotshots with Arabian rice recipe require very few ingredients, but don’t let them fool you, they are packed with flavors. You will feel the aromatic rice with crunchy, juicy chicken in every bite.
Ultimate KFC hotshots with Arabian rice:
Can you feel the crunch, it’s difficult to capture their awesomeness in still shots. But they are not just pretty to look at, they are very tasty as well. You need to try them and find out. We used the same serving bowl as KFC. Took some Arabian rice and top them off with awesomelicious homemade KFC hot shots, we drizzled knorr chili garlic sauce on top. You can even toss these Homemade KFC hot shots either into the cooked rice, or serve them over a bed of aromatic Arabian rice like KFC does. Served in any fashion, in short, these homemade KFC hot shots are sure to elate your taste buds.
- For Marination:
- Chicken boneless------------------------- 1 inches cubes ½ kg
- Chili garlic sauce-------------------------- 2 tbsp I used knorr chili garlic sauce
- Salt-------------------------------------------- ½ tsp
- Black pepper powder--------------------- ½ tsp
- White pepper powder--------------------- ½ tsp
- Paprika powder---------------------------- ½ tsp
- Vinegar--------------------------------------- 1 tbsp
- Mustard Paste------------------------------ ½ tsp
- For Cold Milk Batter
- All-purpose flour---------------------------- 4 tbsp
- Corn flour------------------------------------- 4 tbsp
- Baking powder------------------------------ 1 tsp
- Cold milk------------------------------------- ¾th to 1 cup depending upon consistency
- Chili garlic sauce--------------------------- 2 tbsp
- Paprika powder----------------------------- ½ tsp
- Salt--------------------------------------------- ½ tsp
- For Final Coating:
- All-purpose flour--------------------------- 1 cup
- Baking powder----------------------------- 1tsp
- For Arabian Rice
- Rice------------------------------------------ 2 cups soaked and drained
- Cloves/laung------------------------------- 5
- Green cardamom------------------------- 5 choti sabz elaichi
- Oil--------------------------------------------- 3 tbsp
- Garam-masala Powder------------------ ½ tsp
- Salt-------------------------------------------- 2 tsp or as needed
- Yellow food color-------------------------- 1 drop or pinch
- Hot shots Marination:
- Marinate boneless chicken pieces in all the items under marinate head and set aside for at least 3 hours. When it's hot I marinate chicken pieces and pop it into the fridge with cling over the bowl.
- Now take final coating ingredients that is flour and baking powder, sift them together and set aside.
- Its batter mixing time, mix all the ingredients, whisk with cold milk to a medium consistency batter, not too runny and now too thick. Use cold milk. Set aside.
- Frying:
- Take a piece of marinated chicken, dip it into cold milk batter, then lastly coat the final coating flour + baking powder mix.
- I repeat: Marinated chicken into cold milk batter, then lastly into dry flour mix and into medium heat oil.
- Keep flame on medium to low flame so it doesn't get too dark too quick.
- Take out once golden brown.
- For Arabian Rice:
- Soak rice and set aside.
- Take oil in pot, add in cloves and cardamom.
- Now throw in soaked rice, cook for 5 minutes, and add salt.
- Now add enough water to cook rice.
- Add a drop of yellow food color into the rice.
- Lastly add in garam masala powder.
- Final Assembly:
- Arabian rice

Milk used in the batter should be cold, beat batter with hand whisk vigorously for 2 minutes, it should have smooth, creamy consistency.
