It’s strawberries season and you can get them on reasonable rates now. Or if you’re lucky enough to have surplus strawberries? Why throw them in the bin cos they have rotten after a few neglected days, when you can freeze them and consume after wards, ain’t that cool, or what?

Why buy tinned strawberries when you can preserve them now, huh? Why? 😀

What you need>>>

An air tight container—————- clean and dry
Granulated sugar——————– as needed
Strawberries————————- as needed
Pots of clear water——————– 2
A stainer—————————– 1 (Chaanani)

How it’s done>>>

  1. First you gotta hull strawberries. Which is to remove the green leafy area at of the top of the strawberries.
  2. Wash strawberries and then throw them into the first pot of water. Let them sit in it for 15 min. Drain.
  3. Now throw them (gently) into the pot pot and let them sit in it for further 15 minutes. Drain. Now your strawberries are nice and clean.
  4. Now get an air tight container, I used an ice cream left over container ssshhh. Clean and dry it properly.
  5. Through in a hand full of sugar in the container, then assemble strawberries in a single layer, covering it with another handful of granulated sugar, followed by strawberries in a single layer, till all used up.
  6. Now seal the container and pop it into the freezer.
  7. The sugar will melt on it’s own or by magic and preserve strawberries for you to enjoy through out the year.

Kaisa? Aisa waisa 😀
