Three and a half years back. We had a friend’s get-together at my friend, Mahwish’s place. Had loads of fun. And a delicious, delicious i must say, lunch. I remember there was Chicken karahi, mutton something and chappal kabab. And boy everyone in that room, and we were eight or nine of us, loved the food. We thought she bought it from the market. Literally, it was that good.
And when we asked her, she said, her mom made all of it, I remember asking her, “even the chapal kabab?” And she nodded. That was it. I knew i had to have the recipes. I just had too. It was too good, too good. And i didn’t let her rest or have some peace till I got hold of the recipe, she still hasn’t given me the chicken karahi recipe though 🙂
Well today, I’ll be sharing THAT recipe for you.
I’ve made this three or four times for dinners and all. And nobody thought they were homemade. It’s really surprising how simple they are in making and what great taste they have.
All you need>>>
Mince beef——————- 1/2 kg fine and without fat
Garlic/Ginger paste—- —–2 tbsp
Tomato——————- —–1 chopped
Onion————————— 2 chopped
Green chillies—————–Â 6 finely chopped
Salt————————— to taste
Red chillies Flakes———- 1 tbsp
Garam Masala————— 1 tsp
Egg————————— 1
Whole-wheat flour (atta) — 3/4 cup
Whole-coriander seeds—– 1 tbsp
Fresh Green coriander—— 1/2 bunch
How it’s made>>>
- Combine beef, g/g paste, half of green chillies, salt, red chilli flakes, whole coriander seeds and garam masala, chop till well mixed.
- Take it out and mix onions, tomatoes, rest of the chillies and coriander.
- Later add the egg and the flour.
- Mix well. You can use a little more whole wheat flour if the kabab is till too soft.
- Shape it into a chapal kabad shape, using both your hands and shallow fry. And please don’t over crowd the pan with them or else they’ll break.
- Always remember, make them a little bigger in size, because they shrink during cooking so keep that in mind.
Trust me this is impressive stuff.
Keep impressing! 🙂
