I call it the icebreaker pasta, because I usually take it to new gatherings, when meeting new people rather making new friends. Yes, it’s that good. And since it’s that good people start asking about its recipe, its ingredients and voila, we are friends. Easy, eh!

The recipe is pretty straightforward, quick and delicious. You just need to toss a few ingredients, saute a few other and there you go, out and about to make new friends. This make an excellent lunch-box item for kids for school, you can add in a few of their favorite veggies in here as well and they love it. We usually add corn or capsicum however carrots work wonders too.

  • Red onions--------------------------- 1 finely chopped
  • Mushrooms--------------------------- 100 g thinly sliced
  • Sausages------------------------------ 3 full sausages, sliced or
  • Chicken--------------------------------- 300 g diced
  • Black olives---------------------------- ¼ cup

  • Happy cow cheese------------------- 2 slices Mozzarella cheese
  • oregano---------------------------------- 1 tbsp dried herb
  • Parsley----------------------------------- 2 tsps dried herb
  • Salt---------------------------------------- to taste
  • Black pepper crushed---------------- 2 tsps
  • White pepper--------------------------- 1 tsp
  • Cream------------------------------------ 1 Milkpak or Olpers cream or 200 g cream
  • Milk ---------------------------------------- ½ cup
  • Unsalted butter-------------------------- 2 tbsp
Instructions
  1. There are two ways to go about this pasta recipe. Use either precooked sausages or chicken or use uncooked chicken and do it from scratch.
  2. First, add butter into the pan, now add garlic.
  3. Saute garlic, then saute onions, once done add mushrooms and sausages or any other cooked chicken (if you are using uncooked chicken, add chicken at this stage and cook it properly before going to the next step.)
  4. Now add all of the spices and cheese and give everything a good mix, before adding in cream.
  5. Add in milk, and pop in the pre-boiled pasta. Give everything a good mix, don't break pasta though, be gentle but firm.
  6. Once everything is mixed well, put the flame on medium low and cover the pot for all the flavors to meld.
  7. Throw in black olives , give it a good mix again and we're done.

I used two kinds of cheese in this recipe, one gives it an amazing flavor, the other an amazing feel. Richness of this pasta comes from the cream you’ll using so be generous. You can use any pasta you like for this recipe, I used whole wheat bow pasta, a gift from abroad from a very dear friend.

Let me know if you try it.
Happy cooking!
